Virtual History Makers Awards

The Oregon Historical Society’s annual History Makers Dinner recognizes contemporary individuals and organizations that are positively shaping the history, culture, and landscape of Oregon. These living leaders represent the best of what Oregon has to offer, paving the way through scientific discovery and exploration, innovation in business, communications, the arts, or service in their communities.

Event Type: Special Event, Online VideoAudience(s): Family-friendly

This year, we are proud to recognize the accomplishments of acclaimed artist Lillian Pitt, visionary business leader Punit Renjen, renowned scientist and educator Geraldine Richmond, Ph.D., and international leader in the transportation industry The Greenbrier Companies.

Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, we will be honoring our 2021 History Makers virtually at an awards ceremony that is open to all. Join us for video profiles on each honoree produced by KGW, a chance to hear from each History Maker as they accept their awards, and an opportunity to participate in a virtual “paddle raise” to support the Oregon Historical Society’s important work to collect, preserve, and interpret Oregon’s past.
