Sue Horn-Caskey: In Memoriam

Statement from OHS Executive Director Kerry Tymchuk

Like most of Portland and the many organizations with which she was involved, we are reeling from the sudden and unexpected loss of our trustee Sue Horn-Caskey. Sue loved Portland — her adopted city, the city she embraced with genuine enthusiasm and pride when she and her husband, Rick, moved to Oregon. Her altruistic spirit was felt by everyone who met her, and she quietly and humbly made a tremendous impact on the arts and culture of our city and all of Oregon. Her passing is a tremendous loss.

Several generous donors have already made gifts in Sue’s memory. To honor Sue’s love of textiles and art and her passion for how artists shape our culture and tell our stories, with those gifts we have created the Sue Horn-Caskey Art and Textile Preservation Fund at OHS.

Please join with me in extending our heartfelt sympathies to Rick and their family and many friends.
