Guidelines & Fee Schedule
As all photocopying damages documents physically and chemically, researchers are urged to make a good faith effort to take notes before requesting copies.

  • Photocopying is done at the discretion of the reference librarian and is performed by library staff.
  • Some materials may not be copied due to their condition, age, or legal restrictions. Photographic services are available for most items.
  • Oversize materials (larger than 11 x 17 inches), bound manuscripts, and rare books will not be photocopied. Photographic services are available for most items.
  • Entire published works, manuscripts, oral history transcripts, or photograph collections will not be photocopied.
  • Self-copying is not allowed. Cameras, hand-held scanners, or other duplication devices are not allowed in the Research Library.
  • Permission to examine and request photocopies of materials in the Research Library is not an authorization to publish them. Permission for any use of reproductions must be granted in writing by the Research Library.
