Fall 2015

This permanent exhibition on modern Oregon history is temporarily closed for renovations. Oregon Voices will re-open this fall in its new location (Gallery B, first floor), showing off a refreshed look and visitor experience.  The second floor Brooks Julian Gallery will re-open in June with WWII: A World At War, A State Transformed.

About Oregon Voices:

Explore the issues and events that shaped Oregon from 1950 forward through this in-depth digital exhibition. Our history changes and evolves every day, and Oregon Voices provides a unique forum to understand topics ranging from renewal and removal, to land use laws, to the impact of major industries, to some of the social issues and political movements that have helped shaped modern society. Digital touch screens allow you to make the exhibit your own; with hours of content including films, photographs, recordings, and digital documents from the Oregon Historical Society’s collection, each visit to Oregon Voices can be a different experience.

Oregon Voices builds on the permanent exhibit, Oregon My Oregon, an award-winning display of Oregon history from pre-European contact through the mid-twentieth century. With Oregon Voices, the Oregon Historical Society creatively continues this story by combining the technology of today with stories from the past in a structure that can change as Oregon’s history continues to be written.
