Most notable are Figueroa&amp;rsquo;s work with landscapes, and many of his films feature vast skies and ominous clouds, now known in Mexico as "Figueroa skies." Enthusiastic Peace Corps alumni have already loaned beautiful artifacts and extraordinary photographs that, along with their words and voices, will be the cornerstone of this global exhibit.</description><guid isPermaLink="true">/exhibits/upcoming/peace-corps-50-years-of-service.cfm</guid><link>/exhibits/upcoming/peace-corps-50-years-of-service.cfm</link><pubDate>Tue, 01 Jan 2008 18:00:00 +0000</pubDate></item><item><title>Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam</title><description>&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;Veterans Day, November 11, 2010 - February 13, 2011&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt; &lt;b&gt;Marking Time: Voyage to Vietnam&lt;/b&gt; is a national touring exhibit, featuring artifacts from the troopship General Nelson M. Walker.  Included in the exhibit is an original eight-person berthing (bunk) unit recovered from the ship. It is outfitted with original bedding and bright, orange-colored life vests found on the Walker when the vessel was scrapped in 2005.</description><guid isPermaLink="true">/exhibits/upcoming/marking-time-voyage-to-vietnam.cfm</guid><link>/exhibits/upcoming/marking-time-voyage-to-vietnam.cfm</link><pubDate>Tue, 01 Jan 2008 18:00:00 +0000</pubDate></item><item><title>Walls of Heritage, Walls of Pride: African American Murals</title><description>&lt;b&gt;&lt;i&gt;November 16, 2010 - February 13, 2011&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/b&gt; &lt;p&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;Walls of Heritage, Walls of Pride is an exhibition of murals painted by Portland-based African American artists. This exhibit highlights impressive art pieces largely unknown to those outside the artists&amp;rsquo; local neighborhoods. Both large format color photos and original painted murals will be included in this exhibit of African American art and culture.
