About the Exhibit
September 1, 2008-October 15, 2008

Our views of farming in American life and culture have traditionally focused on the roles that men have played as farmers. Through 30 striking black-and-white photographs and powerful oral histories, Voices of American Farm Women presents a dynamic contemporary perspective on a diverse group of women and their relationship to the land.

Formerly & primarily known as the “farmer’s wife” these women are shaping the future of farming with their practices of environmental responsibility, economic stability, & community well being.
