![]() Victoria Tsou Zhang is a professional dance instructor from Eugene. As a young girl, she studied ballet for ten years at the Eugene School of Ballet. When she was a teenager Victoria performed with the Oregon Ballet Classique Company. Since then, she has performed Chinese ballets and folk dances in Eugene as well as in San Francisco, New York, and Tokyo with distinguished ballet and dance companies. Victoria has worked as a director and choreographer with numerous arts programs and schools in Oregon, New York, California, and New Jersey, and she continues to share her passion for dance with students of all ages and backgrounds. She currently teaches Chinese dance at the Eugene Chinese School.
Folk Dances of China—Minority Dance Traditions of China Victoria introduces the culture, geography, and history of China through its many and diverse Han and minority folk dances. Colorful fans, ribbons, handkerchiefs, and elaborate traditional outfits will be worn and displayed. Residencies will culminate in a short performance of Chinese dance. Victoria’s experience performing and teaching make her workshops, residencies, and performances both educational and fun.
