Rosa Floyd
 

Rosa Floyd was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. She was raised in a traditional family and her parents began taking her to folk dance classes when she was five years old. She continued dancing through high school and in college at the Universidad de Guadalajara. Later, Rosa performed with a group called Casa de la Cultura. She now teaches Dual Bilingual Immersion as well as dance to middle and high school students and performs annually at the Día de los Muertos event held at the Miracle Theatre in Portland. Rosa also designs and sews traditional dance outfits and head pieces. She is passing on dance and music traditions to her sons, ages four and nine.

Ballet Folklorico
Rosa demonstrates different dances from regions of Mexico: Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Jalisco. She also teaches students some of the traditional dances.
 
Cosecha Mestiza
Cosecha Mestiza is a group of three to six artists who perform traditional dances to live music: guitar, cuatro and percussion. Dances include styles from Veracruz, Guerrero, Oaxaca and Jalisco. Lively footwork and Rosa’s handmade, traditional outfits make a great presentation for all ages. The group is available for evenings and weekends.
 
Lucha
This is a folklorico group of fifteen high school students that performs dances from Durango, Nayarit and Veracruz to taped music. They are available for after school and evening performances.
