Leticia was born and raised in Mexico City. At the age of four her mother began taking her to dance classes and by age twelve she was attending professional school for Mexican folk dace, ballet folklorico. She attended the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes (National School of Fine Arts) for ten years and majored in ballet folklorico as well as classical ballet. After graduating, she danced with several well-known dance troupes—Compañia Tradicional de Mexico and Ananauc—performing around the world. In 2001 she came to the United States and performed for four months with a Texas company doing shows mostly along the East coast that emphasized the arts as a means of cultural exchange. She now lives in Portland and teaches dance at Clear Creek School.
