Leticia was born in Guanajo, Michoacán, Mexico, a region known for its indigenous Pur’hepecha culture. As a child, she learned many traditional arts and crafts from her mother such as weaving, embroidery, piñata making and paper flowers. She also learned how to cook posole, mole, tamales, empanadas, pan rancheros and pan de muertos from her mother.

Paper Flowers (Flores de papel)
Paper flowers are commonly used as decorations many celebrations in Mexico. Leticia explains their cultural importance and helps students make their own paper flowers from tissue paper. This is an excellent workshop for students of all ages.
